To ensure your staff work within the principles of the Act, eLFY Training has developed a state of the art eLearning course for all levels of staff. The course uses a range of case studies that will bring realisation to the subject and demonstrate how easy it is to step outside the boundaries of confidentiality/ Everyone responsible for using data has to follow strict rules called ‘data protection principles’.TRAINING OBJECTIVES • Define personal identifiable data • Describe consequences of not securing data • Apply the principles of the Data Protection Act (DPA), which is administered by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) They must make sure the information is:

• Used fairly and lawfully
• Used for limited, specifically stated purposes
• Used in a way that is adequate, relevant and not excessive
• Accurate
• Kept for no longer than is absolute necessary
• Handled according to people's Data Protection rights
• Kept safe and secure
• Not transferred outside of the European Economic area without adequate protection
