Autism Awareness

Course Overview

This course introduces the spectrum of autism and how autism affects people in different ways. Some people with autism may not speak and yet have other ways of communicating, like taking you to the thing they want. Others may have very good use of language on a topic of interest to them and yet not be able to tell you when they have a headache. This course has been developed with subject matter experts from Tracscare: a specialist, outcome focused provider of support for people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, Autism and Acquired Brain Injuries. They work in partnership with commissioners to deliver responsive, flexible, specialist support in registered residential and supported living settings across England and Wales. Aims: To provide an overview of the spectrum of autism and good autism practice.
