Course Overview

This course aims to ensure the learner will be able to respond to a casualty in need of basic life support including common anaphylaxis triggers, the body's reaction and effective treatment. We have accredited or non-accredited options available.

• Explain the purpose of Basic Life Support
• Assess an incident
• Demonstrate resuscitation techniques, secondary survey and the recovery position
• Explain what the chain of survival is and levels of consciousness
• Explain the common triggers for anaphylactic reactions
• Understand the body's reaction to anaphylaxis
• Demonstrate the first aid treatment of someone suffering with anaphylaxis
• Explain the medication used for safe treatment of anaphylaxis
